Monitoring of University research activities
The monitoring activity consists in the definition, collection and analysis of objective data on the progress of research in order to assess its status in relation to what has been planned.
The University has an integrated monitoring system: on the one hand, the Research Strategy Commission monitors institutional research at University level, whether financed with internal funds or with national and European funds; on the other hand, the Quality Assurance Board (PQA) oversees the process of elaboration by the individual Faculties of the Annual Planning Document for Research and Third Mission (DA-RT), which includes a specific section dedicated to self-assessment.
Part of the results of the Research Strategy Commission's monitoring are set out in an annual monitoring document on the state of research at Università Cattolica. This document monitors the existing research structures of the University, the research products and projects carried out, the available financial resources, both internal and found from calls or on behalf of third parties, and doctoral programmes. The main research indicators identified are related to the objectives specified in the strategic documents, in order to highlight strengths, weaknesses and consequent improvement actions. The monitoring takes into account the results of the Faculty's DA-RTs.
