AVA3, the new model for the accreditation of universities and degree programmes

After the public consultation held before the summer, the ANVUR Board of Directors approved on 8 September 2022 the new model for the periodic accreditation of university campuses and degree courses (https://www.anvur.it/attivita/ava/accreditamento-periodico/modello-ava3/). The new AVA3 requirements are in line with the Areas of Assessment provided for by Ministerial Decree 1154/2021 and have some significant changes (e.g. they provide for the evaluation of PhDs) compared to those reported in the previous version, the so-called AVA2. "Compared to AVA2 - explained ANVUR - the points of attention and the aspects to be considered of all the requirements have been better clarified, proposing a new formulation of the latter without question marks to underline that these should be read as good practices to be implemented in the implementation of the University's quality assurance system even before being used by the CEV for evaluation".
