Anvur, the "visit" to Cattolica will be telematic
From 19 to 23 April, an appointment with the National Evaluation Agency.
Formally introduced in universities by the "Gelmini" reform, the Quality Assurance (QA) system has been progressively consolidated in our University in recent years. On the third week of April, "quality" will be at the center of the University's life: a commission of external professors appointed by the National Agency for the Evaluation of the University System and Research (more commonly Anvur) will in fact carry out the accreditation visit to our University. The visit was initially scheduled for November 2020, but the pandemic had initially forced the postponement of the visits already scheduled; Then, since autumn, they have all gone digital.
The "certification" procedure involves all university components, since the University as a whole must guarantee both the possession of the quality requirements for the courses of study, research, and the third mission, and the ability to identify and overcome critical issues through the application of an effective "Quality Assurance" model.
Since 2012, with the establishment of the University Quality Assurance (PQA), Università Cattolica has been progressively consolidating its QA system: on the unicatt.it website, an entire section is dedicated to quality (unicatt.it/assicurazione-qualità): in that context, it is possible to easily consult reference documents, guidelines and much other information that aims to make the entire subject even more transparent and accessible.
But what will happen concretely from 19 to 23 April? On the first day, there will be a series of (online) meetings with the main governing bodies of the University (Rector, representatives of the Senate and the Board of Directors, Rectoral delegates and administrative top management) and with the central structures of the quality assurance system (Presidium and Evaluation Unit). In the following three days 20, On 21 and 22 April, the Commission of Expert Evaluators (CEV) will be divided into subgroups that will evaluate in detail, meeting professors, students, administrative services and stakeholders, 9 courses of study (Medicine and Surgery LMCU – Rome; Modern Philology LM 14 – Milan; LMCU Law – Piacenza; Economics and Business Management L 18 – Milan; Political Sciences and International Relations L 36 – Milan; Primary Education Sciences LM 85bis – Brescia; Foreign Languages, Literatures and Cultures, LM 37 – Milan; Psychology for Organizations: Human Resources, Marketing and Communication LM 51 – Milan; Statistical and Actuarial Sciences LM 83 – Milan) and 2 Faculties (Economics and Law-PC; Humanities) with regard to research and third mission activities.
Following the meetings, the CEV will draw up and present to the Rector, on Friday 23 April, a first summary opinion on the accreditation of the University; in the following months, the summary and preliminary judgment will become a detailed report which, integrating the different judgments, will attribute a final evaluation on the basis of a scale defined by Anvur at national level.
